Kathmandu is the capital city of the beautiful country Nepal.Nepal is located between two large countries China and India. Although it lies between such big countries,it has its own identity. It is known to the world as the land of Gorkhas,where the bravest of the warriors were born and died. Kathmandu is the proud capital of this proud Nation.
Kathmandu lies in the central part or in the heart of Nepal, which is a valley. It has its ancient identity as the city of temples, and lovely people. The numbers of temples, inn, public resting places and the work of art reflects the richness of culture Kathmandu has, although they had been erected for decades ago. Also the ancient looking houses increase the beauty of Kathmandu. Different places of Kathmandu are also listed in the UNESCO world heritage site,and thousands of tourists visit these places annually. Some of the famous locations are Pashupatinath temple,Swayambhunath temple,Patan durbar square, Bhaktapur durbar square,and Kathmandu durbar square.
There are three districts in Kathmandu, Bhaktapur, Lalitpur and Kathmandu. Kathmandu is the highly developed district than any other district in Nepal. The districts are separated by the hindu holly rivers Bagmati, Bishnumati etc. These rivers were once taken as the territory of the kings that ruled here,until King Prithvi Narayan Shah unified them as one.
Beside all these beauties and a strong history, it has now become one of the polluted cities . Unmanaged urbanization, poor sewer systems,lack of good roads are the major problems which has taken down Kathmandu from its original beauty.The rivers of Kathmandu which were once a hindu sacred place are now nothing more than flowing seweage. The ancient temples and monuments are loosing their shape because of negligence. No effort has been made for protecting those beauties.
If Kathmandu is taken good care of it can be one of the important place to visit before you die! But above all the government and the people living here should realize what they have and what it can do fr the development of tourism industry,which can contribute a lot in the gross national income.So, we can conclude that the Kathmandu is a small wonderful city to visit and visit the places here.
